Fall always puts me in a mood to bake! As the temperatures and the leaves begin to drop, I like to keep the kitchen--the heart of our home--warm by firing up the oven. Anyone else? Recipes steeped in tradition and filled with memories are always my favorites! Below you'll find several timeless desserts to make this autumn. There's pie, dessert squares, cookies, and more! The best part? Sharing these classic treats with family and friends and the memories you'll make in the sharing.
1. Cherry Pie Recipe / Crafting A Family
There is something so satisfying about baking a pie. Bonus points if you make the dough from scratch like this lovely blogger! Does it get any better than a warm pie baking in the oven on a crisp, cool afternoon? And this one looks ah-mazing!
2. Peanut Butter Squares / Simply Stacie
Peanut butter and chocolate are always a winning combination! Enjoy them in this simply scrumptious recipe that surprisingly only calls for five ingredients.
3. Snickerdoodles / The Country Chic Cottage
Buttercream frosting and snickerdoodle cookies--two classics--come together to form an irresistible dessert. I know I wouldn't be able to stop at just eating one!
4. Shoofly Cake / Turtles & Tails
This Pennsylvania Dutch dessert has a long history behind it. Enjoy Barb's modern rendition of a timeless treat!
5. Carrot Loaf / Simply Stacie
Filled with fall spices this sweet loaf is one that I can't wait to try! It's like the homemade bread version of a warm carrot cake. Yum!
6. Peanut Butter Pinwheels / The Life of Jennifer Dawn
This sugary sweet confection is a time-honored recipe dating back through multiple generations. Unique variations of the recipe have evolved through the years. Here is how my mother and her grandmother before her prepared this homemade candy.
