Watching football games together is a pastime that my family has always enjoyed. What football party would be complete without some tasty snacks like popcorn, chips, and pretzels, though? Oh, and don't forget to add in a fun game like this printable, football-themed version of Outburst.

Have you ever played Outburst? It's a game that my sister and I played frequently when we were kids. The game is played with two teams competing against each other--just like in football. Each team takes turns guessing the 10 items listed on a card. All of the items on the card fall under a given category. The object of the game is to guess as many of the items as possible before a timer runs out. A point is earned for each correct guess. The player with the most points wins the game! My sister and I used to change the rules up and play our own way, though. Perhaps that's what inspired me to create this version...

I've created a football-themed version of the game Outburst to play during our gathering for the next BIG GAME coming up. This version has football categories like "Football Penalties," "Colors on a Football Jersey," and "Popular Food to Eat While Watching a Sporting Event." The points work a little differently than the original game. Each correct answer allows your team to advance five yards on the scoreboard. The first team that works their way down the football field scoreboard for a "touchdown" wins the game! You'll find printables for the rules, scoreboard, and category cards near the bottom of this post so keep scrolling. This is the perfect game to play before kick off or even during commercials.
Special snacks help create the ideal setting for our football parties. The kids and I ran out to Target to grab a few of our favorites. One aisle and I was done! I found Pop Secret® Popcorn, Snyder’s of Hanover® Pretzels, and Cape Cod® Potato Chips all together in the same aisle.
I like to stick with salted popcorn and original potato chips so my youngest child who has a severe dairy allergy can enjoy the snacks too! Take a look at these Olde Tyme pretzels from Snyder’s of Hanover®! They have the classic pretzel shape, but they are much bigger than most bagged pretzels. They're are also perfect for my little guy to snack on.
With the right supplies, it's super simple to pull together a fun football party. Snacks that everyone can enjoy are a must! The football game itself provides plenty of entertainment, but some pre-game fun is a way to keep everyone entertained before the game starts. That's where this printable football-themed version of Outburst comes in handy. So...we have the snacks and entertainment taken care of. Now you'll just need to gather the guests. That's it! Those are the key ingredients for a super fun and super simple football party that everyone can enjoy!
