Glitter and Mod Podge Heart Wreath

Red glitter and hearts just seem to scream Valentine's Day! And this craft calls for a lot of red glitter. The end result is a sparkly heart wreath that's a perfect decoration for Valentine's Day!

This fun craft is great to try with the kids. There's no wrong way to make your wreath. It's an easy craft that's best served messy. Let's face it! Kids love a good mess, and this craft is messy in the best possible way. It's super simple too--requiring only 5 simple supplies.

Lydia Grace and I have been making and adding little decorative touches to the house for Valentine's Day. I have to admit that I'm a sucker for the holiday. The glitter, hearts, pinkness, doilies, love, and frills of the day make me a little bit giddy. Y'all, could I be any cheesier? I can't help it though. The day of love makes my heart skip a beat. (pun intended!) Well, I guess I just did get cheesier. We better get to the craft before this gets any worse. Our most recent creation was this glitter heart wreath! Try to endure my giddiness long enough to see how we made this sparkly holiday decoration.

Glitter Heart Wreath

Supplies:

Instructions:
Gather your materials. Using the sponge brush to begin covering the front of the styrofoam heart with Mod Podge. Apply a generous amount.

Once the front of the heart is covered with  Mod Podge, sprinkle on a layer of glitter and shake off the excess.

Follow these same steps for the other parts of the heart. Go back and add Mod Podge to any white parts that you still see and sprinkle on more glitter. Continue doing this until you have completely covered the heart with glitter. It may take several layers of Mod Podge and glitter, and it does get a little messy. For quick clean-up cover your craft area with paper or a disposable table cloth. Let it dry for several hours.

To keep the glitter from flaking off, apply one final layer of Modge Podge to the heart by dabbing the glue on gently. This final layer will seal everything in. Tie a ribbon the the wreath and hang it from the ribbon.

    1. Thank you so much! I wish it would have photographed a little better. Things with glitter are a bit tricky with the way they reflect the light. Thank you for stopping by and for the comment!
