Aren't these little terrariums fantastic?! These were created with a kit from Darby Smart.
The kit came with three magnetic tins with lids, moss, gravel, three air plants, adhesive, and a sheet of plastic. I have to admit that I was a little disappointed that my plastic arrived bent up and scratched. Since I didn't need the whole sheet for the project, it ended up working out though. Inside the kit, I also received a website link and code for obtaining the directions for the project. Here are some pictures of the process...
Prior to making these, I wasn't familiar with air plants. Now that I've researched them a bit, I'm determined to try some more projects on my own using these fascinating plants. They're amazing! The only maintenance they require is a little spritz of water every 2-3 days. The kit instructs you to remove them from the terrariums before watering and to ensure they have dried before putting them back. I'm loving this project! These plants are ones that maybe even my "black thumb" won't kill.
