Cloud Dough: Sensory Dough Series

It's time for this month's installment of the 12 Months of Sensory Dough Series!  Each month 11 fellow bloggers and I will share with you our playtime adventures involving a different kind of dough.  You may remember that January's theme was Foam Dough.  Well, February's theme is... Cloud Dough!

Making dough with your kids really can be an easy and rewarding activity.  Cloud dough is especially easy because it can be made with just two ingredients--ones you probably already have at home.

Supplies:
dry ingredient (Choose one: flour, cornstarch, or white sand)
liquid ingredient (Choose one: baby oil, baby shampoo, vegetable oil, or coconut oil)
Side Note: We used flour and baby shampoo to make ours.
sheet protectors
printable playmats (Made with PicMonkey)

I added a little twist to our activity and made night scene and day scene playmats.  Lydia Grace and Eli were able to use their cloud dough to make pretend clouds for their sky playmats.

Directions:
1. Pour your dry ingredient into a bowl.  Add your liquid ingredient in a little at a time and stir until the mixture forms into a dough.  We started mixing it with a spoon and switched to mixing it with our hands at the end.  The kids were a big help with this step.
2. Print off the playmats.  Place each in a sheet protector.
3. Lay the dough and playmats out for the kids to dig right in!

  6. Oh, wow, this is awesome! We don't do "dough" play near enough at my house. I'm always pinning ideas but I never actually follow through. I'm sure my daughter would love this...and my son too if I can keep him from eating it ;)
