A Letter for You on Your 3rd Birthday

Dear Lydia Grace,
How you've grown during the past year!  And what a year it has been!  I know there have been many changes for you during the course of this past year, but I hope that you always know that your Daddy and I love you very much.  In fact, we love you more than any words could ever express.  Our love is shown to you each and everyday--not just on your birthday--but I wanted to take this day as an opportunity to remind you how much you mean to us.  Our love for you is in the kisses that we pepper you with.  It is in the sacrifices that we gladly make as parents.  It is contained within every moment that we share with you, and when we are not with you, it is in the prayers and thoughts that we send your way.
I can't believe what a "big" girl you have become.  When I look at your baby brother, I can't help but remember when you were that little.  It wasn't that long ago that you were a little baby cradled in my arms.  Now you are 3--"helping" me with your baby brother, attending your first dance classes, going potty all by yourself, carrying on full conversations with me, playing with your friends, and always bringing such happiness to my days.  It is always a treat to hear what you have to say--to hear your "take" on the world and to see things through your eyes.  I love watching as you develop passions and interests for things--from movies to music and fairies to cars.  You are your own little person, and I love watching your personality continue to unfold right before my eyes.
A mother's love is an impossible love.  I don't think I'll ever have the words to express what a gift and joy you are to my life.  It just isn't possible, so I'll close by simply telling you that I love you more than words can say!

Love always,
Mom
