Springfield, Illinois/St. Louis, Missouri Trip

My best friend, Heather, and her husband, Jon, moved to Springfield, Illinois about two years ago.  Although she has made it back to Knoxville several times, we hadn't made the drive to visit her yet.  We decided that 15-months-old seemed like a good age for Lydia Grace to take her first big trip...so we braved the eight hour drive with a toddler in tow to visit the "Land of Lincoln".

In addition to spending time with Heather and Jon in their lovely home, we also toured Springfield, walked through Lincoln's home, visited both capitol buildings (old and new), and soaked up some of the history of the area.

On one of the days of our visit, we took a day trip into St. Louis, Missouri.  While in St. Louis, we ate at the Cheesecake Factory (yummy), did a little shopping (of course), went to the zoo, and visited Forest Park.

What a memorable trip!
