Easter Craft for Toddlers with Homemade Finger Paint

I used nap time the other day to mix up a batch of homemade finger paint. The main ingredient in this soapy finger paint is detergent, so it washes right off when they painting fun is over. With just a few simple ingredients that you probably already have in your home, you can quickly and easily mix up this fun, washable finger paint for kids!

We used ours to decorate eggs for Easter. On watercolor paper, I drew several ovals for Easter eggs. Then the finger painting fun began. I allowed the paint time to dry, cut out the ovals, and personalized each painted egg to wish family and friends a "Happy Easter from Lydia Grace!" Here's how you can make your own finger paint that your little ones can use to make their own painted creations!

Soapy Finger Paint for Kids

Ingredients

• 1 cup laundry detergent
• 1/2 cup water
• food coloring

Directions

1. Mix the laundry detergent and water together in a large bowl.
2. Separate the soapy solution out into a few smaller containers. Make sure the containers are wide enough for kids to dip their hands in the soapy mixture.
3. Add a few drops of food coloring to each container. You can use any colors you choose. The food coloring washes right off with the detergent.
