My mom has sewn my entire life...even teaching me the basics at a very early age. I never had much interest in it though. Well, until recently when my sister got a sewing machine and started whipping out some incredible projects. I asked her to teach me to read a pattern, so that I could sew something incredible too. She tried to get me to settle on making an apron for my first project. I already had an apron though and wanted to make something a little more complex. I chose to make a purse instead because I only have about 100 of those. (Hey, don't judge! A girl can never have too many purses.) Let's just say that the purse isn't done yet because I chose a very complicated pattern. Allison summed it up when she said that I had chosen to run before I learned to crawl. I thought it might be a good idea to choose a project more on the crawling level, so I took my sewing back a few baby steps.
