It has been awhile since I have "blogged". I've been a little preoccupied.. LYDIA GRACE SHELTON was born at 3:45 a.m. on March 1. The 7 pound 4 ounce, 19 inch long baby girl with a head of dark hair and beautiful eyes has captured both my time and my heart! I AM IN LOVE. It is a different kind of love than the love I feel for my amazing husband, my lovely family, my wonderful friends, or my terrific classroom kids . A teacher I work with told me you don't know real love until you look at the face of your child for the first time. If that is true..."real love" is a feeling of wanting to always take care of someone--protect them. You can't get enough of them. You could just "eat them up" (said to me by another colleague). You become happily and willingly self-sacrificing. You look at them with eyes of wonder and awe knowing they are a gift from heaven and miracle of GOD's perfect design. You wonder how you could have ever lived your life without them. You cry tears of joy when you are hit with the awesome realization that they are a part of you. You spend hours looking at them with eyes of...LOVE! I know that is the look Lydia Grace received when I first gazed upon her. She will never doubt that she is loved.
